High Tech factory

High Tech Factory is the new production facitity, associated to the MESA+ institute for nanotechnology, based on the campus of the Univeristy of Twente. Here companies in the micro systems and nanotechnology can mass produce for the commercial market. This is a special facility that stimultates entrepeneurship in the field of nanotechnology. The companies that are involved focus on business and growth, instead of realisation of the essential basics. High Tech Factory offers companies space, facilities and high grade cleanrooms.

MESA+  Institue for Nanotechnology

MESA+ is one of the largest nanotechnology research institutes in the world, delivering competitive and successful high quality research. It uses a unique structure, which unites scientific disciplines, and builds fruitful international cooperation to excel in science and education. MESA+ has created a perfect habitat for start-ups in the micro- and nano-industry to establish and to mature.

Omicron

Omicron is the world’s leading supplier of solutions for analytic requirements under UHV-conditions in the fields of surface science and nanotechnology. Founded in 1984 by Norbert Nold, Omicron started business by introducing the SPECTALEED and the legendary Ultra High Vacuum STM 1 as their first and highly successful products. The STM 1, which still delivers state-of-the-art performance even by today's standards in nearly 200 laboratories worldwide, firmly established Omicron's present position as the world market leader in UHV scanning probe microscopy.

University of Twente

The University of Twente is a young, entrepreneurial university. It sets standards in the field of new technology and seeks to stimulate change, renewal and progress in society. Our strength lies in our capacity to combine. We work with the technologies of the future - information technology, biotechnology and nanotechnology - in which behavioural and social science research play a vital role.
The research at the University of Twenteis highly regarded at both the national and international levels, and is accommodated within six very active research institutes. These focus on nanotechnology, information technology, biomedical technology and technical medicine, sustainable energy and smart devices, governance, behavioural sciences and geo-information science/earth observation.
